Accounting Technology and Systems Management is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and apply emerging technologies in accounting as they are integrated into business processes. This includes the design, development, and management of contemporary Accounting Information Systems (AIS) and the associated risks. The course introduces students to critical issues in accounting systems, technology risk management, and digital ethics which are essential competencies for accountants working in today’s rapidly evolving technology-driven environment. To prepare students for real-world challenges in professional accounting practice, the course employs case studies and contemporary software applications to illustrate and conceptualise topical issues.
