Description

The purpose of this course is to prepare the student for the bachelor project. Preparation includes choosing a topic and selecting a project group for the bachelor project. The project group develops their bachelor project description, finds external collaborators, and collects knowledge and data to prepare for the start of the bachelor project. The project group must consist of 2-6 students and be conducted in collaboration with an external partner. The PBL part of the course aims for students to apply their personal and project skills from previous semester projects. Additionally, they gain an understanding of the theory of science related to the methods used in the bachelor project. Topics include bachelor project description, personal competencies, project methodology, theory of science, ethical considerations, critical thinking, and holistic approach. Teaching format and activities: Group work on the bachelor project description supported by process and professional guidance. Online, video, and group teaching on key topics followed by exercises in class. Examination prerequisites: Approved 45-minute individual multiple-choice test in theory of science. No aids allowed during this test. Possible oral remediation. Examination format: Group exam with individual assessment based on the bachelor project description submitted before the deadline. Group presentation approx. 15 minutes, followed by joint exam with discussion and individual questioning.
