The course aims to provide students with an understanding of the fundamental properties and construction of the building envelope, focusing on heat transfer and moisture conditions. Students will learn to calculate buildings' energy consumption according to building regulations. Skills in preliminary design of ventilation and radiator systems will also be developed. Topics include U-values and moisture conditions, heat loss, energy consumption, ventilation, and energy requirements in the Building Regulations. Teaching and activities: 4 hours per week over 12 weeks with teacher-led instruction. The student's workload corresponds to 137.5 hours in total. Study activities include reading materials, class assignments, homework, group work, oral presentations combined with lectures. Examination: Requirements: 1. Attendance (≥ 75%). If not met, the student must submit a written assignment in WISEflow to be eligible for re-examination. Exam format: Individual oral exam, 20 minutes. The exam is based on a topic drawn by lot. No preparation time after the draw. Internal assessment. Allowed aids: None. Re-examination: Same as the regular exam. Grading: According to the 7-point grading scale.
