Description

This is a very practical module. The histology and anatomy of a range of plants is studied in relation to function. This first section develops skills in sectioning, staining, microscopy etc. The major groups of terrestrial plants are examined, as well as the main evolutionary advances that occurred in each group. Plant strategies for survival are studied. Skills in the identification of flowering plants are also developed. Assessment is by a poster presentation and a practical test.
