This subject introduces the students to accounting information systems and core business processes in an e-business environment. The subject addresses essential issues relating to information systems, such as the organisation, management and reporting of financial and non-financial data and information, and the internal control systems required to deal with risks, especially in core transaction cycles. The subject develops a critical understanding of the impact of new technology in transforming the value chain of business processes in relation to accounting, and the role of accountants in contemporary enterprise systems.
