Description

This subject provides an overview of the Australian taxation system as it applies to individuals and business entities. Students examine income tax obligations, capital gains events, tax-effective structures, superannuation, and redundancy payments. The subject develops students' ability to identify and apply strategies for managing income and other taxes, equipping them with practical advisory skills relevant across accounting, business, and professional practice. Contemporary tax topics are introduced with reference to current ATO priorities, legislative developments, and real-world client scenarios.
