Description

Contemporary communications theory and application with focus on the communication tools in the public and non-profit sectors. Topics include: developing technically and strategically sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for internal and external audiences; basic media relations; creating online/electronic content; synthesizing information for briefing notes, proposals and news releases; and how to engage elected officials and executive, community and stakeholders using effective and inclusive communication processes. Supplemental Notes: - Credit will be granted for only one of ADMN 316, ENGL 302, ENSH 304. Credit Conversion: UVic incoming-exchange materials state most UVic courses are worth 1.5 units, a typical full-time term load is 6.0-7.5 UVic units, and 1.5 UVic units equals 6 ECTS. Exchange Registration Note: Exchange registration can be restricted in Business, Education, Engineering, Health, and Law unless the partner agreement allows those areas.
