The Psychology of Memory course is offered in the first four-month period of the second year of the Psychology degree. It is a core subject within the Cognitive Psychology area. The knowledge acquired in the first year about cognitive processes such as attention, perception, and learning, as well as skills in psychology research methodology, are essential for this subject. Its main objective is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about phenomena and processes related to human memory, including types of memory systems, processes of acquisition, maintenance, and retrieval of information, and the experimental techniques and procedures commonly used in research and memory capacity evaluation.
