
Postgraduate Individual Project
Description
Overview: This module will allow students to combine the skills learned in all modules of the course and apply them within a significant project in a specific area of design, manufacture, or engineering management. This will be achieved through an individual project. Syllabus: The student will carry out a project into a relevant and agreed topic, with the findings being documented in a thesis. Learning Outcomes: On completion of the module the student is expected to be able to: LO1 Define a valid project in a cutting-edge field of study relevant to the student’s degree. LO2 Execute a project in a cutting-edge field of study relevant to the student’s degree, involving where appropriate technical analysis and independent critical thinking. LO3 Document a project in a cutting-edge field of study relevant to the student’s degree. Assessment: 2 x Project = 75% 1 x Assignment = 25% Students need to gain a summative mark of 50% to pass the module. Failure will require resubmission following the sitting of the exam board.
