The following main topics are contained in the course: Wide field microscopy Laser scanning single-photon confocal microscopy Two-photon microscopy Spinning disk confocal microscopy Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy Raster Image Correlation Spectroscopy Atomic Force microscopy Fluorescent Lifetime Imaging microscopy Introduction to image analyses using FIJI and Huygens Planned lessons: Total number of planned lessons: 48 Hereof: Common lessons in classroom/auditorium: 24 Team lessons in classroom: 4 Team lessons in laboratory: 20 Common lessons consists of lectures which provide an introduction to the course. Students are expected to independently read prescribed texts to achieve the expected competencies and necessary overview. Team lessons deals with the central parts of the course using computer based exercises and hands on microscopy laboratory training. The lab exercises in which students work together in small groups of 2-3 people give a practical implantation of the theory presented in the intro phase . Other planned teaching activities: Literature studies Preparation of projects individually and in groups.
