
Technology and Automation in Supply Chains
Description
Digital transformation and automation are reshaping how global supply chains are designed, managed, and optimized. This course examines how emerging technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Big Data Analytics, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), enable smarter, more agile, and more transparent supply networks. Students will learn about both the opportunities and the organizational challenges associated with Industry 4.0, including smart warehousing, autonomous logistics, and the integration of digital platforms across the supply chain, and how this can enhance competitiveness, transparency, resilience, and sustainability across the supply chain. The course will further examine the challenges and risks associated with digital transformation, including cybersecurity, data governance, and the human–technology interface. Real-world digitalization cases will be used to connect theory to practice. Students are expected to engage actively in discussions and group work.
