This course is an introduction to accounting systems and processes, showing the role of these systems to support strategic management and operational decision-making and problem-solving. The course covers fundamental areas including transaction processing and internal controls, systems development, database management and analytics. Students learn about key concepts in ERP systems, documentation techniques, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and internal control implementation, database design and modelling, interactive data, analytics and visualisation.
