Pedagogical Practices I - Swimming

Description

To know, perform, and know how to teach the basic technical skills of competitive swimming, artistic swimming, and water polo, as well as the basic tactical skills of water polo and the choreography of artistic swimming, following a multidisciplinary approach model and respecting the rules of each discipline in its competitive context. Learning outcomes and competences The student: Competitive swimming: Regulations Swimming techniques, starts, and turns Relays and medley swimming Pedagogical progressions for teaching competitive swimming Artistic swimming: Rules Basic skills Choreography Pedagogical progression for teaching artistic swimming Water polo Rules Basic skills Pedagogical progression for teaching water polo Multidisciplinary teaching Prerequisites/corequisites: The ones arising from the prerequisites required to apply to FADEUP. Assessment/evaluation: designation Weight (%) Teste 100,00 Total: 100,00 25% (theoretical test) + 25% practical test in competitive swimming + 25% practical test in artistic swimming + 25% practical test in water polo Failure if the score in any of the components is below 7.5 points Failure if the score in the subject area (not rounded) is below 9.5 points SIGARRA mobility teaching-language note: Portuguese and English. Incoming mobility students choose course units through SIGARRA and a Learning Agreement. U.Porto states that one ECTS credit corresponds to 27 hours of total student work, the standard load is 30 ECTS per semester or 60 ECTS per academic year, students are strongly advised to register for at least 20 ECTS per semester, and enrolment is subject to timetable compatibility, prerequisites, vacancies, and later programme changes.
