Yarning, Media and Futures

Description

Storytelling is the heart of this course. Through yarning, interactive learning and practical application, students examine how Aboriginal knowledge and perspectives have been expressed, silenced, resisted and reimagined across journalism, mass media and digital platforms, and how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence are reshaping the landscape. Along the way, they will sharpen critical thinking, test notions of truth in complex media systems, and build the skills to communicate as informed, future-ready professionals. All ABOR courses are developed in alignment with the Wollotuka Institute’s Cultural Standards Framework, ensuring respect for cultural principles and practices.
