AIMS To develop a solid foundation for the study of systems that involve the generation, transport, and conversion of electric power. INDICATIVE CONTENT Please view this video for further information: Introduction to Power Engineering Teaching Period: 2 March 2026 to 31 May 2026 Assessment Information: Description Timing Percentage One written examination in the middle of semester. Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) 1-3 are addressed in this assessment. 1.5 hours Hurdle requirement: To pass the subject, students must exceed a hurdle on the sum of the mid-semester and end-of-semester exams. Mid semester 20% One written examination at the end of semester. ILOs 1-3 are addressed in this assessment. 2 hours Hurdle requirement: To pass the subject, students must exceed a hurdle on the sum of the mid-semester and end-of-semester exams. During the examination period 40% Three workshop reports completed in small groups (2-3 students), each not exceeding 10 pages (approximately 37.5 hours of work total per student). ILOs 3 and 4 are assessed in this assessment 37.5 hours (of work required) Reports to be submitted a week after the workshops (weeks 5, 7 and 12) 30% Four short quizzes, held in lectures. ILOs 1 and 2 are addressed in this assessment 1 hours Throughout the semester 10%
