Financial Markets and the Macroeconomy

Description

Provides students with the necessary tools to understand financial decisions investors and firms make. The course will cover two of the main areas of financial economics: Asset pricing and corporate finance. Asset pricing topics include the valuation of bonds, stocks, derivatives, portfolio decisions, and arbitrage. Corporate finance topics include the valuation of investment projects, the cost of capital, capital structure, and financial distress. Prerequisite: 1 course with a minimum grade of C- from (ECON305, ECON325); and 1 course with a minimum grade of C- from (ECON306, ECON326); and 1 course with a minimum grade of C- from (ECON230, BMGT230, ECON321, STAT401). Restriction: Must be in one of the following programs (Economics Bachelor of Arts; Economics Bachelor of Science; Economics minor; Social Data Science-Economics). Credit Only Granted for:
