MA09 Research Workshop: Designing Practice-Oriented Research Processes
Translated from GermanDescription
Research in social work generates action-relevant knowledge based on existing knowledge, with the research process following recognized methodological and ethical standards. The research workshop offers students a forum to familiarize themselves with knowledge development through scientific methods. In small groups, they work on topics from university institutes, deepening the theoretical and methodological competencies acquired in modules MA03, MA04, and MA07 through application. The goal is to acquire competencies for scientific analysis, optimization, and innovation of social work fields and methods. The workshop also provides space to reflect on different interpretations of qualitative and quantitative data and results and their relation to practical problems. The research report to be produced presents the theoretical justification of the question, methodological approaches, research results and their interpretation, as well as a critical discussion and reflection on the research process. If desired, the master thesis can be developed from the work in the research workshop.
