Financial Accounting for Accountancy & Control
Description
The following subjects will be discussed (among others): Regulation of accounting and financial reporting; Revenue recognition (IFRS 15); Deferred taxes (IAS 12); Intangible assets (IAS 38); Financial instruments (IFRS 9, IAS 32); Shareholders’ equity, liabilities and provisions (IAS 1, IAS 32, IFRS 2 and others) Cash flow statement (IAS 7); Business combinations and consolidation (IFRS 3 and others). Objectives: The aim of this module is to offer to students, knowledge on financial accounting and reporting both in theory and practice at intermediate level. Thus financial accounting concepts and skills from basic level accounting are reviewed and extended in the context of the International Financial Reporting Standards. In order to reinforce and consolidate the accounting concepts, detailed examples, exercises and assignments, including cases, are provided. Upon completion of this course students: review basic knowledge of the relevant general rules needed to compose financial statements; are exposed to a detailed discussion of IFRS are able to compose financial statement based on IFRS requirments
