INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COMPETITION LAW

Description

The Intellectual Property and Competition Law Course aims at providing students with knowledge and legal tools to use and exploit innovation and technology as relevant assets for businesses in largely internationalized markets. In this sense, the course aims at helping students proceeding further in the study of other courses of the Program studied at Bocconi University with a solid background in IP Techniques, something needed to deal with innovation-related economics and management issues. This course focuses on international intellectual property rights and competition applied to echnologies and technological innovation. After a general introduction on intellectual property rights and the methodology followed in the course, the specific topics addressed in the course are: Copyright, the Internet and digital technologies. Distinctive signs. Patents. Exploitation and circulation of intellectual property. Enforcement of intellectual property rights. Exchange/course-load context: The official incoming exchange catalogue states that 30xxx codes refer to undergraduate courses, 20xxx and 21xxx codes refer to graduate courses, and 50xxx codes refer to the Integrated Master of Arts in Law. Undergraduate exchange students are allowed to select undergraduate-level courses only; graduate students can choose both undergraduate and graduate level courses. Bocconi credits are ECTS-equivalent. Each Bocconi credit corresponds to 25 hours of workload, including 8 lecture hours.
