Description
This course introduces basic principles and theory of environmental and resource economics, including economic interpretations of pollution control targets, economic instruments for pollution control, cost-benefit analysis, environmental valuation, optimal resource use, and theoretical foundations for economic sustainability indicators. While focusing on basic theory, the course also discusses real environmental problems and policy debates such as climate change, emissions trading, resource curse, and Green GDP.
