Agricultural and Resource Economics Seminar I is a foundational seminar for second-year students planning to advance from the Faculty of Liberal Arts undergraduate program to the Agricultural and Resource Economics major. The course aims to acquire basic knowledge of agricultural and resource economics and develop skills in narrowing down issues through discussions, debates, reading charts and materials, and constructing logical arguments. Four seminars are offered by four instructors, and students select one. The course progresses through reading and discussing predetermined texts (papers, books). While text selection and problem approaches vary by instructor, the core content is consistent.
