Description

Unit description: Introduces financial literacy concepts, principles and techniques relevant to business. This unit focuses on providing the basic financial literacy knowledge and skills to enable students to appreciate how accounting and finance is used for decision making in organisations. Unit content: Module 1: Introduction to accounting and The Balance Sheet Module 2: The Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement Module 3: Analysis of financial statements Module 4: Budgeting and performance measurement Module 5: Cost-Volume-Profit analysis Module 6: Capital Investment and Financing the business Learning outcomes: Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes . The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
