The development of fantasy literature is an indispensable part of literary history. Russia is not only a literary powerhouse with a profound realist tradition but also has a fantasy literature tradition dating back to the golden age of Pushkin. From the 1820s to the 1920s, nearly a century, Russian fantasy literature experienced its germination, emergence, development, and climax, producing many outstanding classic authors and enriching the literary heritage of Europe and the world. This course systematically combines literary criticism theory, historical background explanation, and specific work analysis to present the development and unique features of Russian fantasy literature. It aims to help students understand the overview of Russian literary history, improve literary aesthetic and critical abilities, and further complete their knowledge structure.
