General Laboratory
Description
Experiments in heat, optics, electron physics, quantum physics, and radioactivity are performed. A substantial part of the course is an experimental project during the Winter Term. A topic for the experimental physics, or observational astronomy project will be assigned after discussion with the student. Learning Hours: 234 (72 Laboratory, 12 Tutorial, 6 Online Activity, 144 Private Study) Requirements: Prerequisite PHYS 239 /3.0 and PHYS 242 /3.0 and PHYS 250 /3.0. Assessment/Exam Context: Course assessment and examinations vary by course; Queen's notes that eligible exchange students whose first language is not English may receive extra final-exam time. Exchange Registration Note: Arts and Science courses are open to exchange students subject to prerequisites and space. Most courses should be in Arts and Science; other faculties may be limited. Education, Medicine, and Nursing are not open to incoming exchange enrolment.
