Description

The study of historical and current climate change, projected future climates emphasizing the effects of global warming, impacts of climate change, and the role of humans as agents of climatic system change. Learning Hours: 120 (36 Lecture, 12 Tutorial, 72 Private Study) Requirements: Prerequisite (Level 3 or above) or permission of the Department. Course Learning Outcomes: - Recognize and understand the empirical evidence of climate change. - Learn to assess the role of human involvement in climate change. - Analyze the future effects of climate change and understand associated uncertainties. - Recognize well-founded or false arguments used in science, policy, and media. - Develop advanced skills for communicating climate change science and policy. Assessment/Exam Context: Course assessment and examinations vary by course; Queen's notes that eligible exchange students whose first language is not English may receive extra final-exam time. Exchange Registration Note: Arts and Science courses are open to exchange students subject to prerequisites and space. Most courses should be in Arts and Science; other faculties may be limited. Education, Medicine, and Nursing are not open to incoming exchange enrolment.
