Victorian Literature
Description
An exploration of the relationship between Victorian literature and culture. This course will examine novels, poems, and essays written between 1830 and 1900 with attention to their particular literary, historical, and social contexts. Learning Hours: 240 (72 Lecture, 168 Private Study) Requirements: Prerequisite Registration in an ENGL Specialization, Major, or Joint Honours, and ENGL 200 /6.0 and ENGL 290 /3.0 and a minimum GPA of 2.3 in 9.0 units of ENGL. Course Equivalencies: ENGL 351 , ENGL 351B Assessment/Exam Context: Course assessment and examinations vary by course; Queen's notes that eligible exchange students whose first language is not English may receive extra final-exam time. Exchange Registration Note: Arts and Science courses are open to exchange students subject to prerequisites and space. Most courses should be in Arts and Science; other faculties may be limited. Education, Medicine, and Nursing are not open to incoming exchange enrolment.
