Intermediate Writing in Poetry
Description
A workshop course focusing on the writing and editing of poetry. Students attempt several different forms within the poetic genre and complete the course with a formal submission for publication in a magazine. There are lectures on editing, publishing, and public performance. Learning Hours: 120 (36 Seminar, 84 Private Study) Requirements: Prerequisite (3.0 units of CWRI) or permission of the Department. Equivalency CWRI 294/3.0*. Assessment/Exam Context: Course assessment and examinations vary by course; Queen's notes that eligible exchange students whose first language is not English may receive extra final-exam time. Exchange Registration Note: Arts and Science courses are open to exchange students subject to prerequisites and space. Most courses should be in Arts and Science; other faculties may be limited. Education, Medicine, and Nursing are not open to incoming exchange enrolment.
