本課程將對人工智慧與專家系統就技術層面，應用層面與研究層面做深入淺出的介紹與探討. 從最基本的人工智慧入門介紹到最複雜的知識表示法與推理機制都會討論. 其目的在培養學生有足夠的理論背景可從事智慧型系統的研究與發展，而智慧型系統正是本世紀最重要的研究課題之一.
