Description

- This course is an elective course offered to third -year B.A. Economics students. It is a follow-up to the introductory econometrics courses Econometrics – I and II offered in the second year of the B.A. programme. The major purpo se is to extend the student's econometric knowledge base by covering a wide range of econometrics methods beyond cross-sectional method. The course will expand students’ knowledge to limited dependent variable models, common data issues, instrumental variables, experimental methods, and panel data methods . The application of these methods will be emphasized. In addition, students will learn to read and evaluate applied econometric papers based on the course material taught utilizing the different methods le arnt, make presentations on ‘Beamer’, use a new document processor ‘LyX/LaTeX’ as well as perform statistical analyses using ‘Stata’.
