This module begins students on a journey they will undertake as photographer, subject and audience, through Photography's ever-expanding world. It encourages you to explore the photographic world through global, historical, technological, ethical and theoretical perspectives, providing a foundational toolkit for conceptualising and contextualising your practice. You will understand the huge cultural influence that photography has in society as the module challenges you to rethink what you know about the subject. Through a combination of interactive-lectures and research-driven, presentational tasks, the module challenges students to rethink what they know about the subject and develop a vocabulary that will further your visual literacy and professional integrity.
