About this course: This course includes central themes on leading people and teams. The course perspective is linked to social sustainability and have strong focus on Norwegian work life and own leadership role. The course starts with exercises in self-reflection and analysis of own leadership skills and strengths. Review of theory and discussion of practice on the following topics: - The "Norwegian model" in work life - Governance and leadership - Ethics and social interaction - Leadership behavior - Teams and team leadership - Communication and change management Learning outcome: After completing the course, the student will have the following learning outcomes, divided into knowledge, skills, and general competence: Knowledge The student: - has basic knowledge of management in organizations and Norwegian working life Skills The student: - has acquired skills in self-assessment and role analysis General competence The student: - has general competence in understanding, analyzing, and discussing management forms in organizations, with a particular emphasis on social sustainability Learning activities: The course is based on active participation from students. Learning activities are digital lectures, self-reflection activities and individual written assignments. Teaching support: Canvas. Assessment method: 2 hours digital home exam after working hours. Pass/fail assessment. Syllabus: Gary Yukl, Leadership in Organizations Global edition, 9. edition 2019. Additional articles will be introduced on Canvas before course start.
