International Business Strategy (English Instruction)
Description
Teaching Objectives: Taking a broad view of your company’s place in the market is as important for sustained success as understanding the nitty-gritty of your company’s operations. In this course, you will study the managerial strategic mindset. You will learn the value of the essentials of business strategy, including generic business strategies, the unique concerns of competing in domestic and foreign markets, and other essential concepts and vocabulary. Teaching Content: This course follows a unique flipped classroom and blended learning methodology. Flipped classrooms reverse the traditional teaching methodology, with homework done in class and classroom lectures completed as homework. The enabling technology for this method is online interactive course material. You will do the required readings and quizzes online on your own according to a predefined schedule (see class schedule below). The class sessions are primarily dedicated to preparing and presenting group assignments, including a larger final project. This course is designed to help students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds quickly absorb the essentials of strategic management and actively apply them to practical problems. Supplementary content may include external guest speeches and cases that bring real-world business experiences into the classroom.
