History of Anthropology

Description

This course follows the historical development of Anthropology from early predecessors to its inception as an academic discipline in the nineteenth century and finally to present-day configurations. Emphasis will be placed on the creation of American and Canadian anthropology, the development of specialized approaches within the four fields of anthropology, and the impacts of feminism and postmodernism. Prerequisite(s): One of ANTH 1101 or ANTH 1105 and one of ANTH 1103 or ANTH 1106 .
