Description

The course aims for students to have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a particular subject and field of study to acquire a deeper ability to identify and solve problems on the basis of scientific evidence. In addition, the course aims to give the student a broader perspective on challenges related to the UN's sustainability goals. The course also aims to train students in research work and project management in such a way that the project can be extended to a degree. Knowledge and understanding For a passing grade the student must Demonstrate knowledge in the chosen field's scientific basis and its proven experience as well as some insight into current research and development. Use adequate terms and a language adapted to the current project. Competences and skills For a passing grade the student must Demonstrate the ability to identify, formulate and frame questions in their chosen field Independently formulate a project plan and with adequate methods carry out a project in the chosen field Demonstrate the ability to model, evaluate, develop or design products, processes or systems Write a report in which the chosen area is discussed in a scientific way Be able to give an oral presentation about their projects and the results achieved Judgement and approach For a passing grade the student must Show insight into the applied field's potential and limitations in the context that is relevant to the work: for example, at the individual level, at work, in society Describe the ethical aspects available for the current project The course content is tailored to students previous choices and direction. Subject is selected and the project plans are submitted so that the student's previous knowledge is applied and deepened.
