Description

Introduction to the analysis of Algonquian languages spoken by students in the class. Basic grammatical features include grammatical categories, gender, verb classes, introduction to verb and noun inflection, and tense. Introduction to principles of Roman and syllabic orthographies. Analysis and practice with examples drawn from languages spoken by class members. Prerequisites: Fluency in an Algonquian language Calendar Offering Pattern: 3-0; or 3-0 Notes: For students in the KITEP Program or with Permission of the Chair of Keewatinase - Indigenous Education Department.
