. After individualized and group related lectures, the student is able to explain the binary nature of the Bible and can distinguish important sections from the Old and New Testament. The student is able to present scientific approaches used in the study of the Bible, with particular attention given to related literary, historical, theological and hermeneutic aspects. The student is familiar with principle strategies for a correct reading of biblical texts and is able to formulate points of attention. The student is able to indicate the relevance and importance of scriptural criticism for the refection on religious studies in general and theology in specific. The student is able to handle the tools, instruments and aids used in the study of biblical texts.
