Physics and Introduction to Biomechanics
Description
Upon completing this course, students will be able to: Describe concepts and principles from kinematics, dynamics, and statics in their own words and explain their interconnections. Identify concepts from the aforementioned fields, such as work, impulse, and angular momentum, in phenomena from everyday life. Apply the physical concepts and laws covered in both computational and conceptual exercises, this includes dissecting physical problems, translating them into an appropriate mathematical/physical context, and solving the corresponding equations. Describe and apply concepts from statics in various problem scenarios. Study and describe phenomena. Apply mechanical principles from mechanics to the biomechanical analysis of human movements. Develop practical applications. Design movement programs for athletes that align with the body’s specific load requirements. The course (OPO) contributes to the student’s ability to: Apply physical principles in other course modules. Develop critical thinking skills and learn to ask meaningful questions. Interpret figures.
