At the end of the course, the student is able to: - understand the principles and the (mathematical) underpinnings of elementary descriptive statistical techniques - interpret correctly and evaluate the value and limitations of descriptive statistics used in specific behavioral research - select descriptive statistical techniques that are appropriate for given research questions and types of data, and motivate the choice - apply descriptive statistical techniques on simple data sets from behavioral research, manually, using a calculator and using statistical
