Learning goals To gain and develop insight in the general principles and the varied application modes of the legal protection of taxpayers against the tax authorities, in view of solving tax procedural queries. This course contributes to the following learning results and core goals (MA Laws): The student possesses both specialised knowledge and insight (broader and more thorough in comparison to general knowledge) in a number of connected general fields of law (which is, in our institution, defined as private law, public law, criminal law, social law, economic law, tax law and international and European law), as well as in-depth knowledge of transversal fields of law that represent the coherence and/or interaction between the various general law disciplines, or the renewal or dynamics of the law. The student • can apply knowledge and insight at a specialised and detailed level in subject related discussions and questions • can interpret and operationalise the interaction between different, correlated fields of law The student applies a systematic method in approaching complex legal and societal questions. He/she can independently make a legal analysis and synthesis, in view of answering questions of a legal or societal nature. The student has the methodological and argumentative capacity to suggest and legitimise acceptable solutions, and is able to take clarifying, evaluative and problem-solving positions in a critical manner. The student • can apply his analytical skillsto clarify, evaluate or solve complex legal or societal queries. • can apply his synthetic skillsto clarify, evaluate or solve complex legal or societal queries • can weigh and make a well-argued choice between different legal options • can convert legal knowledge, insight and skills into output that is relevant for the legal profession
