Classical and Applied Mechanics
Description
The link is established from the basic dynamics and statics of material systems (General Physics: Mechanics (X0A09A)), with the basic principles of the motion of rigid bodies. The student integrates his/her knowledge of mechanical systems and phenomena into his/her knowledge of mathematical techniques (especially linear algebra and calculus). The student deepens his/her understanding of the interdependence of seemingly unrelated phenomena, by bringing them together within the framework of classical mechanics, based on a single basic principle (principle of Hamilton). Also, the link with the basic principles of strength of materials will be established. The learning activities and study materials are explicitly aimed at recognizing and calculating elementary deformation and stress states in objects and tools.
