Description
The course aims at contributing to the following learning results: The student: analyses the environment in which an organisation is active and estimates the influence of environmental factors on the functioning of the organisation.(1. a.) analyses the economic, ecological and social aspects of the environment in which an organisation is active and estimates the influence of these factors on the sustainability of the organisation. (1. a.1) understands and substantiates the critical importance of each management domain for a successful organisation and the coherence with other management domains. (2.c.) understands the critical importance of each relevant management domain for an organisation transgressing towards sustainability. (2.c.1) has a functional multidisciplinary knowledge to identify social phenomena and to reflect on them, also from a philosophical-ethical perspective, and link them with the corporate and market reality in a reasoned way. (4.a.) has a multidisciplinary knowledge to identify social phenomena and to reflect on them from a sustainable perspective, and link them with the functioning of an organisation in a reasoned way. (4.a.1) analyses the functioning of organisations and markets in relation to society and its actors. (4. c.) analyses and suggests changes for the functioning of organisations in relation to society and its stakeholders. (4. c.1) shows interest in current affairs and broadens his background knowledge. (8.g.) shows interest in current affairs and broadens his background knowledge in relation to sustainability. (8.g.1) listens to the opinion of others and constructively deals with various opinions and cultures. (9.b.) listens to the opinion of others and constructively deals with various opinions and cultures while studying societal challenges. (9.b.1) estimates the impact of business operations on various stakeholders and society. (12. a.) reflects on business and economic thinking and behaviour from a social and ethical point of view. (12.c.) reflects on business and economic thinking and behaviour from a sustainable point of view. (12.c.1) ERS Objectives This course unit (OPO) is entirely focused on corporate social responsibility and is therefore clearly embedded in Ethics, Responsibility & Sustainability. Upon completion of this course unit, students are expected to be able to: explain and critically analyze theoretical frameworks and legal regulations in the field of ethics, sustainability, and responsibility. have insight into major societal challenges concerning planet and people, be able to gather information about these challenges, and assess their causes and consequences for organizations. reflect on how worldviews can influence assumptions regarding causes and solutions within the context of societal challenges at the organizational level. recognize, analyze, and propose alternative ways of doing business in a sustainable way for a specific organization. respect the values, opinions, and views of others.
