Description

The student Is able to assess environmental, prevention and sustainability measures based on the strategy of the organisation and is able to estimate the financial impact. Is able to assess how the environmental, prevention and sustainability policy of an organisation affects the relationship with the stakeholders (e.g. image, logistics processes etc.). Upon completing this course: Does the student have a functional knowledge of the general regulations concerning the various types of companies and a sole proprietorship. Understands the correct bookings within the system of double entry accounting on the basis of accounting documents and using the legal scheme. Assesses the financial performance of an organization on the basis of a thorough understanding of the structure and composition of annual accounts and through the critical use of various techniques of financial analysis, and formulates recommendations to adjust the financial policy. Does the student understand the classification of costs and also makes this reasoning for given costs in a given situation. The student understands the different cost price methods and also applies them to a given initial situation. Does the student understand the Belgian legislation on the accounting and the statutory annual accounts and applies them when registering the frequently occurring commercial and financial transactions, the transactions relating to the fixed assets, the current assets and the liabilities, including the year-end transactions. Has the student insight into the options regarding valuation rules in Belgian accounting legislation and can make a targeted choice with a view to an image-oriented versus fiscally advantageous presentation in the annual accounts. The student can make investment decisions based on known investment criteria. This course offers the student the opportunity to acquire a comprehensive basic knowledge of financial and management accounting. In this way he / she gains insight into the registration of financial movements in an enterprise that result in the preparation of annual accounts. The student also acquires insight into the cost calculation methods that are applied in practice. Moreover, on the basis of the financial statements of a company, the student can form a picture of the financial health of a company and what efforts a company takes on sustainability.
