Advanced Macroeconomics II
Description
At the end of this course the student: Is able to read and critically evaluate papers in macroeconomics that use a broad range of empirical methods Is able to estimate and interpret (S)VAR and related approaches to identification in macroeconomics. The student learns to think about current societal challenges and policies that can address them. How can one evaluate if these policies actually work? Are there unintended consequences? What are the effects on economic growth of different policies? What are the channels through which policy affects the economy? Do policies affect different stratifications of the economy differently? Is actual policy robust to uncertainty about empirical effects?
