Description

This course evaluates the following learning outcomes: The student 2.a        Understands basic theories, basic terms, and basic concepts of each management domain, in particular with respect to the financial, operational, commercial and organisational activities, and can apply them when solving business problems. 2.e        Has insight into the current financial reporting regulations and applies them to register financial transactions. 2.f         Assesses the financial performance of an organisation based on a thorough understanding of the structure and preparation of annual accounts and also based on the critical use of several techniques of financial analysis; formulates recommendations to adjust the financial policy. 2.g        Analyses critical methods of cost accounting and uses them accurately when taking management decisions. 2.t         Analyses issues in different management domains on the basis of appropriate theories, concepts and models and proposes a scientifically sound solution. 8.b        Takes into consideration alternative explanations and methods when analysing and solving a (business) economic problem with practical relevance. 11.a      efficiently carries out, independently or in team, a clearly defined assignment. 12.a      Estimates the impact of business operations on various stakeholders and society. More information In this course, students will deepen their knowledge on financial and management accounting. Upon completion of this course, the student can: apply basic theories, terms, and concepts of each management domain, in particular with respect to the financial, operational, commercial and organisational activities when solving business problems. apply the current financial reporting regulations to register financial transactions. assess the financial health of an organisation based on a thorough understanding of the structure and preparation of annual accounts and also based on the critical use of several techniques of financial analysis. formulate recommendations to adjust the financial policy. apply the techniques of cost accounting in practical exercises. analyse cost- and revenue information in order to solve realistic cases. get organised in such a way that he/she can effectively solve a clearly formulated requirement on an individual or group basis. critically assess the social and ethical consequences of management decisions for diverse stakeholders and society.
