Learning outcomes and development goals: K1L Have a basic scientific-disciplinary knowledge and understanding of the polyvalent training of Engineering Technology I1L Problem analysis and solving I2L Designing and/or developing I2V Assuming a creative and innovative attitude I3L Application-oriented research I5L Entrepreneurship I5V Assuming an entrepreneurial attitude P1L Operationalising G1L Acquiring and processing information G2L Communicating with peers and non-peers G2V Assuming a communicative attitude G3L Critical reflection G3V Self-regulating behavior G4V Assuming a cooperative attitude G5L Professional conduct G5V Lifelong learning Objectives: The student is able to communicate clearly on engineering level, in Dutch and English, and understands an assignment correctly, including nuances specific to / for this field, and can work at "engineering pace" [I1, I2, I3, G2, G4, G5].The student knows the context for the design of an industrial control in Belgium, and knows the resulting requirements. This includes, among other things: IT and OT, different control systems,I4.0, etc. [K1, I2, I4, I5, G1, G3, G5]. The student can explain how an emergency stop works in an installation, and can design and implement a 1/2 channel emergency stop system, in a limited ammount of time. The student is able to find and interpret the necessary information for this in a manual.[ K1, I1, I2, I3, I4, I5, P1, G1, G2, G3, G4, G5]. For a simple task, the student can configure, connect, program, operationalise, troubleshoot a PLC, and does so according to an appropriate methodology/structure and within limited time. The student is able to implement and operationalize a sequence and a function (FB) based on a problem definition, within a familiar PLC environment, in a limited time. [K1, I1, I2, P1, G1, G3] The student knows the characteristics of  pneumatic and electric actuation, detection and control. [K1] The student is able to build up and operationalize a pneumatic or electrical control system, in a limited time. [K1, I1, I2, P1, G1, G3] The student has instrumental research skills related to building an automated system. [I3]
