Learning outcomes K1        Possess basic scientific-disciplinary knowledge and understanding I1         Analysis and problem solving G1       Acquiring and processing information G2       Communicating with colleagues and non-colleagues G5       Professionalism Objectives Theory & Excercises At the end of this course unit, the student can explain the fundamental concepts of composition of matter, atomic structure and periodic properties, chemical bonding, intermolecular forces, fundamental concepts of acid-base, redox reactions, thermodynamics and kinetics of chemical reactions and chemical equilibrium. Furthermore, the student has knowledge and insight into organic chemistry and its importance for society, both in terms of application in various industrial sectors (petrochemicals, fine chemicals, plastics,...)(K1, I1). Lab The student can search for and process scientific and technical information in a targeted way. The student is also able to correctly refer to this information (G1). The student can write a scientific report and to draw up graphs and tables according to the norms. The student is also able to make responsible summaries (G2). The student can work accurately (G5). Paying attention to safety aspects (labelling, toxicity, flammability), the student learns to handle chemicals and solvents (K1).
