LEARNING OUTCOMES 1. To acquire analytical tools to address fixed-wing aircraft performance and static stability 2. To acquire fundamentals of dynamic system modeling and simulation with a particular focus on aircraft point-mass model 3. To acquire the capability of solving numerical problems related to aircrfaft performance and stablity and to critically discuss numerical results. OBJECTIVES The student knows the basic concepts of aicraft modelling The student can perform the numerical calculation of range and endurance for different flight conditions The student can address the study of optimal flight conditions for jet and propeller aircraft The student can estimate the thrust, drag and lift coefficient an load factor of turn and pull-up manoeuvres The student can address the longitudinal, lateral and directional static stability analysis of a fixed-wing aircraft
