This course aims at an insight into the underlying physico-chemical principles for the behaviour of pure substances and mixtures and for phase equilibria and chemical processes in which matter may be involved. This is indispensable prior knowledge for many aspects from chemical engineering, more in particular for the courses 'Scheidingsprocessen' and 'Chemische reactorkunde en bioreactorkunde'.
