This course wants to provide the students with insights into the specific nature of Roman historiography, on three levels: - the processing and representation of the past - historiography as a literary genre - the social function of historiography Accordingly, the students will become acquainted with three approaches: the course will combine historical-philological criticism, rhetorical-stylistic research and discourse analysis.
