Archaeological Theory, Methods and Practice II

Description

Students should acquire knowledge and understanding of archeological scientific theory, methodology and practice to be able to apply this in a sensible way in the professional practice. By reflecting on the professional field, students should obtain a general critical-scientific attitude. In this course students should obtain insight into the analytic theory, methodology and practice of the analysis of archeological material. By means of individual and group-oriented practical exercises students should be able to draw conclusions of an archeological nature from qualitative and quantitative observations. Students will master a number of concepts of analytic archeology, as well as the practical techniques following from this. Students will develop competences on the empirical basis of archeology.
